Attention Filmmakers!

Calling all filmmakers! Beijing Queer Film Festival (aka Love Queer Cinema Week) is now open for submissions. Mainland China's long running platform for LGBTQ cinema celebrates a milestone 10th edition this year. This year's festival has a special focus on African filmmakers and African queer narratives, but as always will be supporting Chinese language independent queer film. Submit your films before August 1st by visiting bjqff.com

Shanghai Queer Film Festival, which debuts this coming September, is still open for entries to its short film competition. They're looking for Asian queer films. Submit before June 8th via Filmfreeway or on their website, shqff.org

As Pride season roles in, look out for queer film events in Guangzhou and Shanghai during June. ShanghaiPRIDE Film Festival is back, albeit in a much reduced form, on June 11th and 18th. And Guangzhou LGBTQ International Film Festival will be hitting screens for its third year at consulate venues around the city. Check local city listings for details.
